Abstract

Hydatid cyst is a common and important health problem that is frequently caused by a parasite named echinococcus granulosus. The incidence of the disease is 4,9/100.000 per year in our country. Surgery is the main choice of therapy. Classical approach via transabdominal route is difficult in cases where the disease is localized at the diaphragmatic surface. The alternative approach is the transthoracic way. Here we present the results of 3 cases operated by minithoracotomy for their diseases localized at the diaphragmatic surface.
