Abstract

Lipomas are rare but well-recognized tumours of the small and large intestines. Intestinal lipomas should be removed surgically because they can cause severe symptoms and usually a tissue diagnosis is indicated in intestinal tumours to exclude a malignancy. The present report describes a case of ileal lipoma causing ileoileal temporary intussusception in an adult with a history of severe episodes of colicky lower abdominal pain and vomiting.
