Abstract

This experimental study was performed in Trakya University Medical Faculty, Department of General Surgery. Serum inorganic phosphorus (İP) and creatinin kinase (CK) levels were investigated in order to determine whether they are factors in early prognosis of acute mesenteric artery ischemia. 28 rabbits were divided into four groups of seven rabbits. First group was used as control group, in other groups, the mesenteric artery was occluded. Revascularization was performed in second group after two hours of ischemia, in third group after four hours of ischemia. Fourth group was occluded completely. Blood samples were taken at 2, 4, ö, 9 and 24 hours and serum IP and CK levels were determined in all of the rabbits. As a result, IP and CK levels were elevated after 2 hours, Because of spontaneous dying of experimental animals, high levels of these two markers are signs of bad prognosis, Serum CK levels were found to be more sensitive parameters than İP in acute mesenteric artery ischemia.
