Abstract

80 extremity gunshot injuries treated from May 1990 to May 1997, in Mobilized Surgical Hospital (30 beds capacity) of Mountain and Commando Brigade Hakkari, were evaluated prospectively. Davis SISK4 method was used for the classification of these injuries. Cases followed averagely for six months and these results were obtained. Injuries happened with low velocity traumas and which have minumum soft tissues damage must be treated conservatively. Extensive and big injuries which have minimum or excessive avasculare tissue and foreign body can be treated with wide debridement-vacuum drainage-primary closure.
