Abstract

The local usage of r-tpa for the inhibition of intraperitoneal adhesion was investigated by an experimental model.

Primary adhesion formation was formed in 14 rats out of 15 in the control group, whereas adhesion was formed in 4 rats out of 14 with which r-tpa was utilized, and the normal abdominal findings was observed in the rest (p<0.001). Secondary adhesion formation was observed in all of the controls (total 8 rats) and these adhesions were observed only in 6 rats out of 13 in which the r-tpa were utilized (p<0.05).

No complications occured resulting from the appllcation of r-tpa.

In conclusion it is understood that the local intraperitoneal usage of r-tpa in the inhibition of primary and secondary adhesion is effective.
