What has changed with 2015 American Thyroid Association Management Guidelines

The updated “ATA (American Thyroid Association) Management Guidelines for Adult Patients with Thyroid Nodules and Differentiated Thyroid Cancer” has been published in Thyroid Journal (DOI: 10.1089/thy.2015.0020) in January 2016. According to the previous one, the new guideline includes 8 new questions, 21 new recommendations and there are significant changes in 21 recommendation. In the guideline, suggestions have been made regarding screening tests, approaches to the identified nodule, approaches to the surgical treatment, malignancy follow-up and other treatment modalities, respectively. In this review, changed sections and new sections within the recent guideline have been expressed.
